However when I spoke to the vet, their response was that if the dog likes the food he's been eating, there's no reason why he would stop. The vet indicated that I should take the dog in for a check up. I'm a little confused. Does anyone have any thoughts that you can share? I'm just worry since I feel that his lack of nutrient may affect his growth. Thanks.

it may be the heat. some dogs don't eat as much when it get hotter, just like people. if he's fine otherwise i wouldn't worry too too much about it. have you tried spicing up his food alittle? maybe adding some chicken broth to flavor it ?
