Caramel Pie:
1 Pet Ritz Deep Dish Pie Crust (Bake the empty pie crust)
3 cans of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
Boil the 3 cans of Eagle Brand for 3 1/2 hours -in a pot of water on stovetop - Always keep water at least 2" over the tops of the cans!!!- (gently rolling boil) don't cover pot.
Important... LET COOL before puncturing cans!!!!! I run cold water over them in the pot until they are cool. When you know that they are cool, puncture cans before putting them in the can opener. Empty contents into a mixing bowl and beat with the hand mixer for about 2 minutes. Dump contents into the pie shell and refrigerate. Enjoy!
I should add that hubby thinks this is somewhat risky as the contents of these cans are under pressure, hubby cringes when I make this pie, but he is always the first one to grab a fork! LOL! |
