Bring plenty of water, keep your babies leashed and be prepared to carry them when they tire.

Remember that in the woods you WILL encounter (besides ticks) hawks, snakes and depending on where you live cougars too. I live in the suburbs of NJ and have hawks living on my property; they have even circled my KIDS who are all 15 years and older--a little Yorkie would get snatched for sure!

If you take precautions and are willing to pick up and carry your Yorkie for the BULK of the hike, go for it. You probably won't have to carry your babies, but what if what if what if--be sure you can for "just in case." If you can carry your furbaby and water, go for it.
