I think this has happend to all of us who has ever taken our baby to a groomer at least once.
I know you didn't get the cut you thought you were going to but did the groomer do a good job with the cut he did get? If she is talented (and believe me they are hard to find) next time take a photograph of the kind of cut you do want. That way she will know how you want him done. Try keeping him tangle free between grooming, it's really important. Tangles can actually get painful if it gets too bad.
His lashes will grow back as well as his hair.
