Like my mom says, "Always expect the best before the worst." Have faith in Lexi! And for the record, you're not a jerk. Of course there is a lot of people who don't love animals the exact same way as we do, but that doesn't mean she will hate you either! If you really feel that uneasy, put Lexi in one of the Pet Hotel things. At least you know that there is care 24/7.
