My little guy is 16 weeks old and I don't think he could hold it
from 11 to 7:30 or 8:00. That's like almost 9 hours...Getting
up in the middle of the night bites, but I think until he is older
you may have to break up that 9 hours into shorter segments.
Mine is crate trained but doesn't sleep in the crate at night.
In the beginning he woke me up probably every 3 hours or so
which meant I was getting up twice during the night. The older
he is getting the less frequent he seems to need to go out at
night but even now we do make one poo call at about 4 a.m.
Definitely do the treat thing in getting your pup to come. I began
with giving mine treats every single time he came. After he caught
onto the concept it didn't matter where he was on our 1/4 acre
property when I say "treat" Teddy almost flies to me. Now I have
cut back on the food reward everytime to just sometimes. I mix
up treats and yorkie parties to keep him interested and always
positive that he is doing what he is suppose to be doing. It's always
a pay off for him he just doesn't know which it will be and doesn't
seem to care. I don't know your pups personality though so you
may just have to find things that will work for you. I am lucky in
that my little guy seems to learn like a little scholar. At 16 weeks
he sits, stays, lays, shakes, high 5's, rolls over, plays dead, knows
the word off, Does circles, comes when called and is about 95%
potty trained. Good Luck to you and your little pup!
