Audrey,
Your adding liquid to the food already, so this should be enough. I would also be giving a small amount of Nutristat 2 or 3 times a day, especially if they are no longer nursing. I wouldn't worry too much about the water, adding Karo is just an invitation to bacteria. I would just stick with the nutristat. Are they still nursing at all, if so, that is also providing liquids. If they are no longer nursing, just make sure the food you are feeding is very soupy by adding water or milk replacer. If they seem to be constipated or have hard stools and you are doing all of the above, you might want to give them chicken broth (the low sodium natural kind) to encourage drinking.
