If you buy your puppy from a reputable breeder you will not pick your puppy up till it is at least 12 weeks. Buy this time the ears should stand or the breeder has ways to make sure they do. You do need to remove the weight from the last third or even up to half the end of the ear so that the weight of the hair does not pull them down.
