That is funny bc I was just reading an article about Science Diet and why in the world vets recommend it. The first ingredient in that food in Corn, which a lot of yorkies are allergic to. Have you noticed her itching at all? Or does she have dry skin? If she has either of these symptoms, the corn in her food is likely the culprit. I would highly recommend switching her to a food that has the first ingredient as some sort of meat...whether it is chicken or turkey or something like that. My yorkies are picky picky picky and they LOVE Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers' Soul. The first two ingredients in that food are Chicken and Turkey. It is an excellent food. Other great foods are Merricks and Natural Balance. I would DEFINATELY consider switching foods to one that is more healthy for her.
I also free feed my two. Although my little 12 week old puppy is hefty, so I am considering putting her on a feeding schedule. We'll see..... |
