Sounds like the bleeding is subsiding - becoming less. This is good.
You still have to give him water - for two reasons.
1) Vomiting causes dehydration quickly....because he is depleting his body of fluid everytime he throws up.
2) And secondly - I would think if he is vomiting - he would be more comfortable if there were something in his stomach to throw up -- dry heaves are far more uncomfortable.
You are right not giving him any food until whatever his stomach problems are clear up. His stomach needs a rest and shouldn't be kept busy right now working at digesting food.
