I did'nt get a puppy while I was pregnant but I did when my son was 2 months old. Theya re both born on the same day
I also thought it would be hard but it gave my youngest something to do when I was messing with baby she didnt feel so jealous and this baby slept soooooo much the first few months.Also I knew I would not be going for extended periods from the house after he was born so I had plenty of time to be home with the puppy. He is getting bigger and so is my skin baby No real problems in fact I would be afraid that if you decided no puppy because the baby was scoming that your child that is looking forward to a dog might resent the baby more for that reason. I dont know each situation is different but I havent had too much of a problem
