Sorry to hear about your son's accident. I hope it all turns out well. they can do so much now days, with severed appendages.

When I was a little girl about 3 or 4, over 50 years ago, I cut my ring finger, left hand, on the blade of an old push mower. It was hanging on by just the skin. The Dr. was going to remove it. My mother begged him to try to save it becaue it was my ring finger.

He sewed it back together, and said to watch to see if it started to turn black. It heaed, As it was across the first joint he said I would probably not be able to bend it. It works fine.

That was 50 some years ago. I have faith that your son's finger will heal just fine.
