Congratulations on your new Baby!

I can't tell you what to do, but this is my experience with getting a puppy when I was 5 months pregnant.

We purchased a Sheltie for our two young sons. Beauregard immediately bonded exclusively to me. We lived in an apartment at the time waiting for our home to close so we could move in. So Beau had to be walked on a leash. Towards the end of the pregnancy I was pretty much on bed rest. It was very aggravating because Beau would do his potty business IF I took him out, but since I was horizontal for the duration, my Mom took over the duties. Beau would NOT potty for her, he would go for a walk but would not potty. Needless to say having the potty accidents in the apartment added unnecessary stress to an already stressful situation.

If you decide to get a puppy now, then it would be in your best interests to work very hard to get the house training issues out of the way in plenty of time just in case you have to take it easy towards the end of your pregnancy.
