Its very easy to shave their bottoms. You just lift their tail and zip zip, you're done in a matter of seconds, depending on how well behaved your little one is being. The small moustache trimmers work great and you can find them cheap too. I got mine from Wal-mart, they are battery operated, they were between 10-20 dollars not sure exactly how much though.
I don't know how others handle the hair on the bottoms of their feet but I use the smae clippers and just trim off as much as I can. The trimmers are great if you are going to do anything on your own at home. They work great for the ears and any of the belly/hygiene area if you decide to trim it too.
