Since all this was new to me ~ I hired a broker. They are listed in phone book and the airlines also gave me names and numbers of brokers. It cost me 240. for the cost of the broker, but I then did not have to go to customs since the broker does all the paperwork for you. I have heard now that as long as the cost of your pet is under 2,000 you probably don't need a broker. But then I also heard of one person that it cost her 500. since she did not hire a broker and ended up having to just to get her dog through customs. It is just the luck of the draw.
