Awww that is so sad
and I am so very sorry to hear that that has happened, but please don't hate the entire Dachsund breed because of one incident. As I said before, I have had Dachsunds all my life, and I have NEVER had 1 single Dachsund bite or be mean to another dog, or any other animal for that matter. Maybe your moms dog just has temperament issues? Does it not like to be around other dogs? Also, alot of dogs (and NOT just Dachsunds) do not like it when another dog steps into his or her territory. Sometimes they are very protective (again, NOT just Dachsunds). I can COMPLETELY and TOTALLY understand you being very upset that this has happened, and that it caused your poor, sweet little baby to have surgery, but please don't take it out on the entire Dachsund breed
They really don't ALL desserve to be punished for it
I PROMISE YOU, they are NOT all like that. My little girl (Mini Dachsund) is a complete and total sweetheart and would not hurt a FLY. In fact, she is sooooo protective of my little Yorkie. She thinks that she is his mamma!
They play 24/7 and my little Yorkie just LOVES her to pieces!! I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my Dachsund...she is such a blessing
My little Yorkie would be totally lost without her! In fact, my sisters best friend has a Yorkie, and that little 3 lb thing will bark at and bite people all day long...and she does NOT like to be around any other animals...however, that does not mean that all Yorkies are like that (I'm sure yours isn't like that, and I know MINE isn't like that!), it is just THAT specific Yorkie, and she unfourtunately has a bad temperament. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I understand that you don't like your moms dog because of what he/she did to your baby, and I can understand you not ever wanting to bring your baby around him/her again...but please don't say you hate the whole entire breed
