Check with the airline that you're flying with - some (Southwest for one) don't allow pets at all. I know United, Northwest and JetBlue all will allow pets as carry-on, but you have to pay for them ($50 to $80 each way depending on the airline).
We're taking Jaxon with us at the end of July - flying Boston to Seattle! It's a direct flight though and we're flying at night so hopefully he'll be ok.
I would prefer taking my dog rather than leaving them, regardless of the kennel. You just have to plan in advance, especially if you're staying in hotels, etc. Hope it works out! |
