Grew up with Dachsunds my whole life.... they are great dogs, but they must be trained well!! They have strong wills
My grandparents had one named Charlie who was a great dog and lived to be 16 years old, but he wasn't trained very well and went potty all over the house, and bit strangers!
After Charlie passed away, they got another one named Woody, he was a rescue dog, purebred Dachsund, though, and he was a GREAT dog! He was trained very well and he loved everybody, never had any pottying problems, or temperment problems, we all loved him so much! He lived to be 14 years old and now we miss him so much.... just make sure if you get one to train it early, and train it well- then you'll have a great dog for many years... good luck and show us pics if you get one!!
