I had one as a kid and she was a great dog. Her name was Ginger and she was black and tan. She was very smart and sweet. My Mom would not let her lick us in the face unless we brushed her teeth. So my sister and I would brush her teeth and she loved it. She would hold her lips up so we could brush them.
Sorry I am rambling you just brought up fond memories. I think they are great dogs.
