A red leg is a genetic mutation causing the puppy to have black coat, and reddish gold, and lighter coat than other yorkies. There are no known health problems. Long time show breeders have used red legs in their breeding programs to keep the color true. Her parents were 5.5 and 6.5 lbs, both normal steel blue/gold. She has had bile acid testing, which is fine, and is perfectly healthy. Just small. My first red leg in 18 years, so did a lot of research. |
