I'm sure he misses you. But, he may just be lonesome and would appreciate any companionship. I don't suppose you want another dog, do you?

My pup has never cried or whinned when I have left him -- but, on the couple occasions that I penned him up (in the same area) while I was home, he had a fit. If I'm home, he wants full run of the house.

However- when I go to work - he has never known anything different than being left in the kitchen/laundry room area. And - this has always been just fine with him. Perhaps my success is that he started out this way as a very young pup. Plus - he never has been much of a barker, whinner, or crier by nature.
