My Joey (3 lbs 10 ozs) is 2 years old and still has some baby teeth. I tried waiting to see if they would come out on their own, by giving him plenty of chew toys, but they are still there. I've always brushed his teeth and taken care of his dental needs here at home, but it's time, past time. I take him in this Friday (14th) for a cleaning and to have the baby teeth pulled. I am so scared, but my Vet called me Friday and told me step by step the procedure, so I feel a LITTLE bit better. He uses the isoflourine gas and something to take the edge off before giving him the gas, no barbituates or anything harmful. I am still nervous about it all, but I'd be nervous if I didn't have it done and then he got sick because of infected gums or something. We Yorkies moms are darned if we do and darned if we don't, LOL
