Default Retained teeth

My pup is 10 months old and past due for being neutered.

I put this off for a while because of his teeth. At six months, he had several doubles. But over time, he has eventually lost all of them. I noticed just the other day (at ten months), that the last one has fallen out. So, now when he gets neutered - he won't need to have any teeth extracted at the same time.

I think I read in a recent post that someone's Yorkie just lost their last baby tooth at 14 months.

I agree we should have them pulled if they don't come out on their own (which I was ready to do) -- but perhaps, many dogs just need a little more time. If we have a little more patience - perhaps we can avoid having to have their teeth pulled - plus save ourselves the expense.

I can say also that Murphy's baby teeth never seemed to bother him - even though he had some doubles for quite a while.

But - every dog's teeth are different (like childrens) -- so just use your own good judgement regarding how long you want to wait.
