I voted yes but will never do it again.

I had to give Gus a summer cut last year but only because of his accident. After been attacked by a German Shepherd, they had to shave him down so I did have to shave him from the neck down. And I did trim chest and face. He looked like a tiny lion. I just prefer the long hair. And I do think the summer/puppy cuts are cute but I much rather have Gus's hair long.
