I think he looks pretty cute in the after pics actually. Doesn't look like a schnauzer at all to me. What did the pics you showed the groomer look like? Compared to some of the Petsmart and Petco haircuts I've seen people post pictures of, I think you got off pretty easy. I'm amazed he still has some fur. Usually they pretty much strip every dog that comes in.
