My vet doesn't recommend Revolution, either. When it first came out, he did carry it but noticed that dogs who were on it still had fleas/ticks. Since we have a year-round flea/tick problem and seriously prolific bugs here in Texas, he told me he doesn't think Revolution is strong enough for our dogs because it tries to do too much.
I use K-9 Advantix and Sentinel.
