I am so upset with all the people that abandon their pets. It is so infuriating not to be able to help these animals. I feel so powerless because I cannot do anything to help the dogs at the local shelter. I asked the county's shelter to be a volunteer when we adopted a cat there, and they said they don't take volunteers. Then I found out that it is a high-kill shelter, and they gas the poor animals in a room. Cats don't even get a week. No wonder they don't take volunteers.
I would die before I let any of my pets go to a shelter. Actually, thank you for posting this. Today I will figure out a way to make sure a trusted relative gets my pets in case my husband and I die unexpectedly.
