Well, my Yellow Lab, Foster, he got his name because his father was a huge black lab called Guiness, like the beer. So we named our dog Foster, because he is the exact color of Foster's beer, and then also it was a little tribute to his dad... you know, the beer thing...
My yorkie Schatzi, her name came from the idea that for years I always wanted a little puppy of my own, a little Yorkie who would be mine to treasure always, and Schatzi means "a little treasure" in german... incidentally, my husband, who gave her to me for our anniversary, is also german, so it all fits nicely I think!
