I think that you should take him. I loved taking Georgie on trips eventhough he is a pain in the car sometimes. Just stop ever couple of hours stretch and let Riley go potty. As for dog friendly hotels you can go to letsgopets.com and put in the city where you are staying. Good luck and we would love to see pics of the trip
