You're right, it is a sad story, but how much money is really involved in our babies? I have a feeling I might spend more then most, but if you add up the necessities from take-home day, then all the vet bills & shots, along with the cost of the dog, it seems to me the price for "winning" a case, should be at least double what was paid for the baby. Never mind the love and relationship that was established and the feeling of helplessness that would have to be faced if she replaces the baby, each and every time she opens her back door, goes for a walk OR sits on her porch! This is worse then the hawk stories I have heard...
