We just got back from a family reunion that required a 24 hour drive and the dogs did great. I took my chihuahua and yorkie (5 months) with us and we drove 12 hours a day and then stopped at a hotel. Both of them mostly slept while we were driving. Everytime we stopped for a break I let them out for a walk. I was amazed at how well they both traveled and I know they don't mind their carseats because after we returned home, I brought the carseats in to the house to wash them and when the dogs were ready to sleep, they hopped back in their carseats.
It was a little more work to have them with me but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. |
