Default Add this to your yorkie's emergency numbers list!

YUck, I just had the worst scare. I was moving appliances around in the kitchen to sweep and took a break to get on the computer. I heard Brandy chewing on something and found Brandy in the kitchen corner chewing on a old roach trap! (one of those black bait trays by Combat) It was an old one from a year ago that I didn't see when I pushed the stove back. She must have seen it and was able to paw it to get it. Even though she only had it for 30 seconds she had chewed a couple holes through the label.
I looked on the internet for poison control numbers and found one that would charge $45! I kept looking and found a FREE 1800 number! This lady was SO helpful and knowledgable. She said that the dog would have to get the center out (I don't know what that looks like since I didn't give her the opportunity to) and eat lots of them in order to do any harm. She said that the middle of them are peanut butter flavored and that's why dogs seek them out.
The website offered a lot of poison help and stuff around the house or the yard that can be dangerous. Our yorkies are so little I worry because I don't think it would take much to hurt them.
Anyways, I'm so relieved that she will be fine, but of course I'm still going to keep her close to me and probably be up all night worried about her because I'm a big worrywart and feel guilty.
Here is the poison control number to put on the fridge:
800-222-1222
Remember that anything can happen with these curious little terriors. My pug just stared at her while she did it. She's a pain in the butt but I love her anyways. No matter how careful you might be it only takes a second for something bad to happen.

love ya all!
