I bought black light incandescent bulbs a couple of years ago and they were so weak they didn't do a thing. The fluorescent ones are the best. My daughter has one in her room and at night, lit up, it's so cool.

Also, remember that the light doesn't just show pee stains...it shows all kinds of stains and how you'd be able to distinguish what's a drink spill and a urine stain I don't know. I don't think you can really tell the difference.
