To my knowledge...it depends on the dog. They are supposed to expell this naturally. If they are butt-dragging...it means that they aren't expelling it naturally and that it is irritated (it can get infected if let go too long). If yours isn't butt-dragging then I wouldn't worry about it.
I've also known people who did it as a prevention method because you can get stains on furniture and carpet from it. |
