Good question! Best - walk her in your fenced in yard - where no other dogs go. But that is almost impossible to keep them totally isolated from the real world. It is like - do you take your own human child out or keep them inside all the time? Just be informed and protect them. The boots are a great idea to protect them from picking up something from the ground. Keep them away from other dog BM. And just be careful of the surroundings. If you feel uncomfortable and strays around - pick another place. Then when you get home - check them over carefully for fleas, ticks, etc... My hubby and I were on our way back home from the store and ran into a fox going up someones driveway. My husband asked me if you could tame a fox! What was he thinking! So you just have to be careful.
