According to their site, the products mixes with their saliva and coats the teeth, which in turn eradicates any tartar, plaque or other stuff. There are two forms, a gel (which is generally for very bad teeth and it does help to brush with the gel) or a spray that you just spray in their mouth. We have both. Sissy hates the spray but will happily lick the gel off my fingers. I usually add a little more and just rub along the outside of her teeth.
