I've never taken my Sissy with me there, but when I go to the area, I always see lots of dogs everywhere!! There is a wonderful outdoor outlet mall in Carlsbad and there are always dogs there. There is a beach between Carlsbad and where you will be staying that is called "Dog Beach" and it is just for dogs!! Most of the beaches do not allow dogs during the summer, but there are many wonderful walking paths along the beaches.
