I tried a nursing bottle with no luck, the eye dropper wasnt good either. I thought about tube feeding but he did very well with a syringe. I could tell how much he got, anywhere from 4 ccs to 12 when he got bigger at a time. I just slowly pushed some formula out with a long tip syringe, at the side of the mouth pointed back to bypass his cleft.Every 2 to 3 hours, except at night he went 6 hours without food by 3 weeks. This is when he occasionally suffered from hypoglycemia.
He know drinks formula still from a tiny bowl, and since I added honey he does not have attacks anymore. Hes stronger too. (this was a suggestion from a YTER)
Thanks all, he is a pretty neat lil guy. |
