That was a good move, cooling him off in the bath. Have you given him a summer haircut? My dogs appreciate the shorter hair in the heat - they definitely seem more comfortable. As far as the hot body temp and the itching, I'd give the vet a call and just ask what they think. It's always good to know in case it happens again.
