Not to create controversy, but check the package first. I'm not clear from the original post if the person allowed their dog to chew on it or just fetch with it. I've seen some that say not to let your dog chew on them as a chew toy. We have the chuck it, but only use it as a fetch and retrieve type toy. Once we are done at the park it gets put away.
