Not sure if this is true (as I'm waiting to get my first yorkie later this month), but I've heard that puppies that are a little older take a little longer to bond than young puppies. I remember reading that you should not take the puppy anywhere for a couple of days so that the puppy will bond with you before you introduce him or her to other people.
