I've never used Cowboy Magic. Living in a small town some products are hard to find in my area. But I use THERMASILK DETANGLER LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER SPRAY (Give to me by a friend) for my yorkies. One yorkie tangles VERY EASILY. I just spray them all over and spray a little more on the tangle and work it into the matt and it slides right out. But I have a back up- it's a dematting comb. It works great but since I used the Thermasilk, I haven't used the dematting comb again.
