I don't have the latest picture of Izzy, but she is 9 months old, and went her her first cut last week. We're the same as you - she hadn't even had a trim. She kinda looks like the yorkie in the previous post, just a little longer on the hair. I just told the groomer(who is awesome with yorkies) that I wanted her hair to grow long, but just to shape it up, which is exactly what she did. Shaved her ears, but left the hair around them long. She also trimmed the hair around her paws, and left the rest of her legs long, just trimmed. Just make sure to tell them not to shave her...I wouldn't even mention puppy cut, b/c they may get scissor happy! Best of luck!!
