its been my experience, I have all three scales

Most digital postal scales only weighs gram and ounces, when it exceeds 16 ounces it automatically sets to lbs/oz's

when set on ounces it will give you an accurate weight without needing conversion.

Baby scales only come in lbs and ounces some require conversion

Digital food scales also most weigh in gram and ounces you just convert your ounces to pounds.
