If 1.7 is in pounds then you would take 1.7 and multiply by 16 which would give you approx. 27 ounces or 1 pound 11 ounces.

I have also taken mine to the shipping places and used their digital scales before I found such an economical one.

Thank you for clarifying that for me I never knew how to convert. I need to go back to school Now it all is soooo clear
