Default Explain this....(nighttime barking!)

One night my son woke up sick at 4:00 am, and in my rush to get him some medicine, I turned on the kitchen light, and woke up the crated dogs. Mazie started barking for awhile, and against my advice , my husband went and messed with her, and eventually ended up letting her in bed with us.

Well, guess what her new "wake up" time has been, ever since?! I can ignore her yapping better than he can, but he has to get up a lot earlier than I do, and they are crated right next to our bedroom. (The way our house is set up, there is NOwhere to put the crates that won't be right next to SOMEone's bedroom. ) Putting a blanket over her crate has helped some, but it's still a problem more often than not.

Here's what I don't get:

She'll be yapping and yapping, and my husband will get up, not acknowledge her, just pick up her crate and shut it in the bathroom (the farthest area away from HIM! ) AND THEN SHE STOPS!!! I would think that KNOWING someone had heard her, and was up, and had just moved her, would only agitate her more....but 99% if the time, she never makes another peep after that.

Any ideas why?!

(unfortunately, this is not a PERFECT solution, as we only have one bathroom, and, uh....I have to use it several times during the night. And THAT does start her barking again! By the way....they are only crated for 4 or 5 hours a night).
