I agree - keeping the ears shaved on the top third helps them stand - take the weight of the hair off & sometimes they stand right up - but at 8 months - they may not .....
I remember my girls both went thru that puppy coat phase and man they DID tangle easily....GOOD LUCK at the groomer - and if her ears don't stand all the way - don't sweat it - she's cute and there are lots of little floppy eared yorkies out there
