Never change a food abruptly. Slowly add the new food to the old and gradually increase it over a two week period. Most likely the change of food is what caused it. In my opinion, Beneful is a really bad food. It has a lot of dyes in it, just to make it look appealing to you. Volunteering in a shelter we can't be too picky about food donations, but I've seen a lot of dogs throw it right up. The Beneful and Alpo Gravy Train seem to be the worst.

I would suggest you try Merricks, Nutro Ultra, Eukanuba for small breeds, etc. Go to a petstore to buy the food and skip the grocery store and department store brands. They eat so little you can afford to feed the best and I truly believe a good quality food reduces vet bills.
