Here is a start: educte people about puppymills. Never buy a dog from a pet store, or as far as I am concerned from any "breeder". Sure, there are reputable breeders, but when thousands of homeless dogs are euthanized daily do we really need to be making more??? For evey dog that is bought from a breeder a homeless dog could fill its place. Spay and nuter every dog..etc. etc. Sorry, but the majority of people just don't ever come in contact with the dark side of this. |
We have LOTS of threads here about NOT buying from Pet Stores - unfortunately many find out after the fact... but I agree - the more it's discussed the more people will know...and it can't be repeated too often. For every ONE person we tell - they may tell 2 friends.... who tell 2 friends....
Thank you for all you do - I don't know HOW you do it though....it must be happy and terribly sad at the same time. The rescue stories are just heartbreaking
