Yes, most breeders have some kind of marking system. You can paint the one's back toe nails that you choose. I've even seen it mentioned that they paint the nail polish right on the back of the neck. Some use rickrack, but I'm afraid of them getting tangled. It really depends on the litter size, sometimes you just have one girl and a big boy and a little boy so you don't have to mark. You're really not going to be able to tell a lot at 1 week, I have had them reverse in size from that point (biggest at birth become the smallest at 6 weeks).
